Every transaction is a 2 part verification. First the bank will verify the transaction (funds, legitimacy, etc.). Once the bank approves the transaction we then approve or deny the transaction. If we deny the transaction the pending charge will fall off within a few business days. The time frame for the pending charge to drop depends on your banking institution.
